I was on a ship and now I'm back.

We did some field work on board R/V Aranda. I'm too tired at this point to write much about it, but the short version is the weather sucked, we all were sick a lot, but in the end it was worth it and we will do it again. I modestly celebrated my birthday and received many excellent b-day related messages when I got back yesterday. I will be back in NL for nearly two weeks in the beginning of September, and I hope to see all those not forgotten friends who remembered me (social-networking sites assisted, perhaps) for a belated round on my tab.
