It just rains a lot - everywhere

Yesterday we landed in Amsterdam for a multi-week, multi-eventuous, and multi-wet 'back home' experience. The funny thing is, I feel I'm a long way from home, so I guess that means I've now officially accepted the fact that I live in Helsinki.

Today I'm at my old lab working through some of the Baltic Sea samples and meeting up with those former colleagues that have not fled since my last working day there in May 2006. It's interesting that four years of conditioning still lands me in my old office every time I come up the stairs, to the surprised face of its new occupant.

Plans for this week: tomorrow we'll attend K's PhD defence, Friday I'll spend at the lab and in the evening attending the Night of the Unexpected at Paradiso, Saturday moving my sister out of my old appartment and clearing the place, ending with an end-of-rent party for whoever is still around these days :). A few more days at the lab, a wedding of the other sister, and hopefully a few days of strolling the old Dam.

If you're around, let me know, email and old NL phone work!

Welcome back to the nether regions. Life below sea level has never been so dry.
