Ok, lights off!

Ok, people got married, pictures were taken, friends came over and we all had a brilliant time of it. Now I can wait for a moment of peace and do a nice blog post (or better than this at least), but for the sake of keeping this record slightly synchronized with real life it's just going to be a summary. If you're one of the two regular readers, you were probably also involved in the fun so nobody is missing much. Then again, I'm keeping this thing also as a personal/public log of my travelling life, and for that I regret the lack of writing something more substantial between the previous post and this poor substitute.

so, over the past couple of weeks:
- K&K visited, with K's parents in tow, and M and me finally got around to touring our new home town. Useful, and quite a bit of fun. We found out that K does not sleep. This is probably why he doesn't have trouble keeping his blog up to date. One of these days the pictures will enter the Flickr site. One of these days.
- Then all of us got on a plane to Amsterdam where I left my wallet. Not in Amsterdam as such, but on that plane in no-man's-land. There was some running around the airport involved, and that involved a very sweaty me, and then I got it back just as the plane was readied for boarding again. Then it rained a lot, and we found our way (eventually) to my sister Y's house. There we entertained ourselves a few days by watching her sprout grow up before our eyes. I worked a bit at my old lab. K defended her PhD Thesis, answering difficult questions at length. The thesis was about mantras and mining, I think.
-I got some tax returns, but not the ones I have been waiting for for over a year now..
-My sister L and me emptied my old apartment that she has been occupying for as long as that was legal. There was a party on the last night with floors covered (see previous post).
-My sister A had a wedding and so did her (now) husband M. And somehow the kids too. We are still figuring that last bit out.
-Oh, I nearly forgot-I bought a wrist watch. I haven't worn a watch since I was about 13. I'm still not sure I like it straddling my arm. But it's incredibly useful so I expect other people will soon catch on.

Hey, that's about it. Not bad for a summary, right?

But now this. The place is turning colder, and darker, rapidly. We are reaching that time of year where we give up our summer daylight length advantage compared to 'home'. I don't really want winter to start yet. Here's the graph:
